Impact & Risks

The heavy rainfall poses a significant risk of flash flooding, particularly in low-lying and coastal areas. Flooded basements and damaged infrastructure have already been reported in parts of Orange County, New York. Downed trees and power lines have left approximately 185,000 homes and businesses across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania without power as of late Monday afternoon. The risk of further flooding and power outages remains high, especially in areas under the flash flood advisory. Residents in affected regions should remain vigilant and prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
